Manners of the Heart and EBR Schools have partnered in a student story-writing contest. Using Manners of the Heart characters, write and illustrate a story about a time in Merryville when the characters needed to learn a lesson about respecting others. The contest is open to 4th and 5th graders. One winner each from 4th and 5th grades will be selected to advance to the district level. Please encourage your child to participate. Entries must be turned in to your child’s teacher by February 10, 2017. Use the links below to learn about the Manners of the Heart, the characters, and the setting.

Today, Ms. Montero's class learned about what teachers do for our community and students. Hayden made a connection between Mr. Loflin being a teacher and what the book said. Too cute!

Kindergarten needs Mardi Gras beads for the parade on Friday, February 24, 2017. Please send in your throws as soon as possible. If possible, please sort the beads by length and group them into packs of ten for our little ones. We also need stuffed animals and throws. We hope to see you there!
At the beginning of the school year Mrs. Cruz's class read Flat Stanley. We decorated versions of Flat Stanleys and sent them off to explore the world. Our flat friends have been jet setting to places like Waelder, Texas, Houston, Texas, Evans, Georigia, Lake Arenal, Costa Rica, Israel, and Jordan. Here are a few of their adventures.
