,Third grade students explored when to use a globe and when to use a map. A globe is a model of the Earth, and it is useful to view the entire Earth according to scale. A map usually shows a smaller area than the entire Earth, such as a country or state. Centers focused on using maps to learn about regions of Louisiana.
Pre-K welcomed Mrs. Lori and Ms. Tara from Arrow Pest Control to teach them about all about bugs. The children learned fun facts about ants, bees, termites, grasshoppers, and a ton of other bugs.

Good evening, Baton Rouge Center Families! I am happy to report that tomorrow, January 19th, school will be open. Please be careful on the roads as you make your way to school in the morning. We look forward to seeing all of our boys and girls and getting back into a routine. We only have 61 days until state testing and 78 days of school remaining. Here are a few reminders:

Due to the continued impact of winter weather conditions and a concern for the safety for our students, and staff, all East Baton Rouge Parish Schools and administrative offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 18th.
All EBR schools will be closed Tuesday, January 16th & Wednesday, January 17th due to possibly icy conditions and below freezing temperatures.

12 members of BRCVPA's Robotics Club traveled to the Main Library to participate in a Lego WeDo Robotics Expo. Our students researched and built robots that could help with different community problems like homelessness, hunger, and disaster relief.
We are now under a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service and out of an abundance of caution all EBR schools will be closed today.
Frozen precipitation is predicted to enter BR in the early afternoon and below freezing temperatures are expected to be here by 3 to 4 pm, the prime time for our busses on the road.
