Last year our school participated in the Great Kindness Challenge and became a kindness certified school! This year, we aim to keep the kindness coming!

The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC) is a proactive and positive bullying prevention initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. The Great Kindness Challenge - School Edition is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible on campus and at home. Using the provided kindness checklist, students accept the challenge and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS!

This year, because of Covid, the GKC has developed checklists for both students learning on campus and at home.

LEGO WeDo Robots!

1/22/2021

Second graders have been learning how to use coding to program computers. Beginning with block based programming on Code.org, students practiced drag and drop to design a program that allowed an on screen character to complete an activity. This week, they've taken it one step further using ROBOTS!!

Milo, the Science Rover, is a LEGO WeDo robot the second graders have built and practiced programming. So far, they have learned how to get milo to go forward, backward, and stop. They've also explored how using a robot arm with a motion sensor attached can control Milo even more. Check out these future computer scientists and engineers!
