Congratulations to our 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year, Monica Brown! Ms. Brown has been teaching for 15 years. She has taught all subjects, but spent much of her teaching career as a 4th grade math teacher. She moved to BRCVPA in 2015 and taught 4th Grade ELA for 2 years. Now she is doing an AMAZING job as our 3rd Grade ELA teacher!
Ms. Brown will represent BRCVPA at the EBRPSS Teacher of the Year Ceremony, and will be in the running for East Baton Rouge Parish Teacher of the Year as well!
Here are some things parents and students had to say about Ms. Brown:
Here are a few comments from her colleagues:
Please join us in celebrating Ms. Monica Brown, our 2017-2018 BRCVPA Teacher of the Year!

To better communicate with parents in the event of late bus departures, we have created a link for afternoon bus departure information. It is located on the right-hand side of the web version of our site. On the mobile site, it is located all the way at the bottom. This page will be updated every afternoon once the buses depart. Click the image above to check it out!
We hope this will be a useful tool for our families!
Today we announced the student winners of the Fall Fest T-Shirt design contest! The following students' fish designs will be featured on the front of this year's shirt. We had many wonderful submissions, and we will proudly display all of them as decorations at Fall Fest.
T-shirt order forms are coming home today, and the deadline to order shirts is TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24TH so we can have them printed and distributed before Fall Fest.
If you need to print additional shirt order forms,

We wanted to let parents know that we had an AC unit that tripped the fire alarm this morning.
The fire department came out to check it and said, while we do need a new school, :) it is safe to return to the classrooms!
All of the students are happily back inside having a great day of learning! Big thanks to all of the teachers and students for getting outside so quickly, and thanks to the fire department for their speedy response!
Students in Mrs. Berry's 2nd grade social studies class learned about different communities. They had to work collaboratively in groups to brainstorm things that are found in different types of communities, and then they had to build one. What a great way to encourage creativity and learning in one lesson! These communities will be on display tonight for arts integration night. We hope you will join us!
Family Arts Integration Night is tomorrow at 6:15 p.m.! Families are invited to come out and get a taste of what your kids get to experience every single day at BRCVPA.
This is a fun night for everyone, and we hope to see you here!
There is a PTO Meeting at 5:45 p.m. in Mrs. Brown's classroom focusing on Fall Fest. Please join us for that if you can, and stay for family fun at Arts Night!
Are you interested in helping with Fall Fest? Maybe you like to decorate? Collect Donations? Set up or clean up? Organize volunteers? Run a booth? Hand out prizes? or anything else we have not covered.....
Even if you would like to help, but don't know where to begin, please come out and join the meeting. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 18th at 5:45 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone!
