Second-grade students in Ms. de Silva's class chose their own three digit numbers and created poses to represent how large or small the numbers were. They got with a partner or two and compared their numbers using a greater than or less than sign. Then they compared their numbers to volume in music and discussed how the greater than sign looks the same same as a crescendo in music and a less than sign looks the same as a decrescendo in music. They learned that crescendo means to get louder in music and a decrescendo means to get softer. As you can see they got very creative with their poses!
