Nationwide, there are approximately 4,340 magnet schools serving nearly 3.5 million students. Knowing that students learn differently, magnet schools focus on specialized theme-based curriculum and instruction, while still meeting all state and district academic standards. Magnet schools are public, free, and open to all students.
Magnet Schools of America (MSA) is proud to organize National Magnet School Month and was founded in 1986. It is the national association of magnet and theme-based schools. It supports and serves the leaders and teachers of magnet and theme-based schools, while promoting the development of new magnet programs and public schools of choice.
