New information continues to roll out in waves, granting us the time and perspective to make decisions in the best interest of our students and staff. The Louisiana Department of Education released new guidance that covers senior course credits, graduation requirements, grade-level proficiency, etc. The district is working to implement these changes and additional info will be forthcoming over the coming days and weeks.
The Technology Integration team, in conjunction with Curriculum & Instruction, released resources for teachers and parents related to virtual learning. We are dedicated to building a distance-learning plan for our students and families that can sustain us through this closure.
One major focus area throughout this closure has been our child nutrition operations. The team has been heroic and I applaud them for battling this pandemic’s challenges on the front lines. However, we must make a shift to protect their safety and well-being. The district has opted to partner with Ballard Hospitality, City Group and the 3 o'clock project to supply a mix of hot and cold meals, and shelf-stable boxed meals to students through the duration of this closure. To view the change in meal schedules please visit the district's website, https://ebrschools.org/coronavirus-covid-19/child-nutrition/. The district will not be serving meals on April 10, in observance of Good Friday.
As hard as it may seem, by keeping your distance you are protecting neighbors and loved ones everywhere. We will be together again soon and this virus will not change our identities. Stay safe and let’s beat this thing! Remain positive and staff safe.
