We are so excited to announce our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year for BRCVPA is Mrs. Ashley Gaubert!
Ms. Gaubert is well-known at BRCVPA for her warm smile and kind heart. She teaches 4th Grade Math, and has been in the same classroom since 2017 when she was Ms. Boudreaux's student teacher! It was there where she developed her passion from teaching math under her beloved mentor. After she graduated from college, she worked as a part-time teacher with Ms. Boudreaux until Spring of 2019, and became the full-time 4th grade math teacher in Fall of 2020.
Ms. Gaubert is from Lafayette, Louisiana. She has one younger sister, Jessica, who is her favorite person in the world! She moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU. She has been married to her husband, Trevor since 2019, and they have a cat named Scraps. Ms. Gaubert loves to garden, bake, and volunteer as a CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) in her spare time. She loves her BRCVPA family, and thinks she has the best job in the world!
We are so proud of Ms. Gaubert, and thrilled that she is going to represent BRCVPA as our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year!
"Mrs. Gaubert is great with communication and works well with her students. She is very hands on & caring." - Jessica, parent
"She treats the students as if they're her own. She responds to parent messages in the evenings and weekends and offers helpful advice when a student seems to be struggling. She is proactive. She reaches out to parents if she sees there's something concerning that is happening with the student and truly tries her best every day for the betterment of the students and the school. She has a mastery of her classroom, she holds her students to a high standard and herself to a higher one. She rewards her students with work that feels like play and incorporates the arts into her classroom seamlessly. The students adore her, and they're learning so very much under her care. There is no one more deserving of this award." -Angela, parent
"I think Mrs. Gaubert should be Teacher of the year because she always finds fun ways to make math more fun for us for example we had to do a animal habitat project and she also let us do an art project. She also let us do a sugar skull. One day in extended day I started to cry and she comforted me she just is always in a good mood and she always is willing to help!" - Elizabeth, student
"She messaged me when my child was away from school just to say we missed him in class today. There are So many students that a teacher deals with daily and she took out her time to let me know that my child was missed. And when he returned to school, she let me know that he was doing great as the day went by. It means the world to me (any parent) to know that a teacher feels the same as I about my child." - Kayla, parent
"She’s passionate about teaching math to her students and always seems to have a smile on her face. She makes learning fun." Brenda and Cameron, parent and student
"She is so welcoming to everyone on campus. She inspires me everyday as an educator and as a friend. She is an excellent teacher as she strives for each and everyone of her students to succeed. If you have a chance to observe her teach, her math lessons are engaging and fun for all included. Students, parents and staff are constantly raving about how great of a teacher she is!" - Ms. Teal, teacher
