Ms. Wells and the 1st Grade teachers took the kids to see Slim Goodbody, who reviews everything they have been learning about the systems in the human body. Two of our BRCVPA students got to go on stage! Carin was a part of the interactive "I WILL NEVER SMOKE EVER" routine, and Adele was nominated by her classmates to do a cartwheel into a split for the Marvelous Muscles segment. The both represented BRCVPA well!
The entire 1st grade (including the teachers) had a great time singing and participating in the show. Mr. Slim Goodbody is a tradition at BRCVPA with long lasting effects. Even now some of the 4th and 5th graders are remembering some of the ideas the learned ll those years ago while studying the muscular and circulatory system. A great time was had by all. Congratulations to Coraline, Hannah, Laila, and Mason for most closely estimating the number of "snowballs" it would take to finish Frosty! We are so proud of them, and excited about all of the students' participation.
It took 152 snowballs to finish frosty. 49 for his head, and 103 for his body. Be on the lookout for a new estimation challenge soon!!!
Lots of excitement at BRCVPA today! We got 6 new Promethean Touchboards and were able to upgrade the outdated boards in classrooms. Mrs. Savant's class presented Mrs. Hartley with this precious card to say thanks!
Due to a scheduling conflict with Lifetouch, class pictures will NOT be tomorrow. They will be rescheduled for a later date. Thank your for your understanding!
Due to scheduling conflicts, the SIT meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3 has been moved to Thursday, Feb. 25th. However, a smaller group will still meet on Feb. 3rd at 3:30 in the library. All parents, teachers, and staff are welcome.
The Early Childhood Office is excited about the two Palooza events scheduled January 27th at Woodlawn Middle School from 4pm to 6pm and January 30th at Cortana Mall from 10am to 2pm. The purpose of the Palooza is to provide community resources to parents of young children from birth to five years old. Most resources are free, such as ICARE, Families Helping Families, Volunteers of America, Head Start, health care providers, etc. These resources can help parents build a solid educational foundation for their children. Thus, increasing your child’s chance of entering school on time and on level.
Unfortunately, the Pre-K Round Up online application has been delayed. They are hoping to have the online registration begin at the beginning of March.
