Mrs. Kendall's kindergarten class was all about the subtraction skill the other day! They were singing about those monkeys jumping on the bed, then drawing the monkeys, and crossing them off as they fell off that bed! The students also wrote subtraction sentences to show their work and then read them aloud. Way to go, Kindergarten!
We are so glad so many of you were able to join us for the Mommy and Me field trip to the Manship Theatre! Before the show, students and their families got to picnic, explore downtown, and check out the Mississippi River. Then, BRCVPA packed the house for Walk On: The Story of Rosa Parks. It was a great show, rich with music and history. We appreciate the opportunity to share this experience with our "Mommies!" This year's classroom group picture day is Thursday, February 6th. We will begin pictures at 8:30 in the morning and continue until we have completed every classroom! Picture order envelopes have been sent home and must be sent back to school ON or BEFORE the morning of pictures with the correct amount of money.
Important Info Date: FEBRUARY 6, 2020 Amount: $10.00 BRCVPA has plenty of fun February activities coming up! These two flyers will be coming home so keep an eye out for a BRIGHT PINK paper in your child's backpack! The first one is about our school field trip to Celebration Station for Valentine's Day. Make sure to pay attention to due dates. Remember, as with all school activities, any student with unpaid fees will not be able to participate. The second one mentions the Great Kindness Challenge which we will be participating in this month. A checklist of ideas is included. We are excited about everything coming up this month!
The Great Kindness Challenge is a proactive and positive bullying prevention initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. The Great Kindness Challenge - School Edition is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible on campus. Using the provided kindness checklist, students accept the challenge and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS! Students from all over the world take part in Kindness Week to spread the message "KINDNESS MATTERS!" All next week we will celebrate by being as kind as we can be to one another! You can participate at home by using THIS CHECKLIST. We will provide school checklists for your child, but in case it gets misplaced you can find an extra copy here! ![]()
