In 1954, Walnut Hills Elementary opened its doors! Flash forward 62 years later and the first 1st grade class of 1954 came back for a visit! They are in town for their 50th high school reunion and wanted to come back for a blast from the past! What a special treat!
The Jungle Book Kids: A 5th Grade Production Reminder: All Jungle Book Merchandise Order Forms are due by Friday April 29th. The form is attached below. Every 5th grade student needs a production shirt. If we do not receive enough orders for the professional DVD of the performance, we will cancel the recording and refund any orders. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade science scores will be available sometime in July. ELA and math scores will be in sometime in August. We do not have specific dates all we know is the month. Stay tuned!!

Check out the website, www.donewithbullying.com, for information for students on how to avoid being a target for bullying as well as ideas of what you can do when you see others being bullied. Mr. Thompson took the opportunity to teach about color, size and shape while the students at BRCVPA toured the art show. We hope you can come out to support Mr. Fuller and the BRCVPA band at 12:15pm on Saturday, April 30 and Ms. Wells and BRCVPA's Jump Jive and Giggle at 1:15pm at the Riverfront Plaza downtown! Info for JJG Downtown performance Saturday, April 30th Time: Meet near Stage Sign In Area at 12:30. Attire: Solid black activity pants/ performance shirt. Hair neatly pulled back away form the face. This appears to be a BIG event please make plans to arrive early as parking may be an issue. CelEBRate Map- (see attachment) Kindergarten practicing addition and subtraction at All Star Lanes! This is a reminder that state LEAP testing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders begins Monday, April 25th, and will continue Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Our BRCVPA Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrt Show was Amazing! We had so many people come out to see the fantastic work produced by our talented students. Thank you all for supporting the BRCVPA art program! June 10th-19th. Auditions for young actors (under 18) will be held Monday April 25th beginning at 5pm. Auditions for adult actors will be held Tuesday April 26th beginning at 5pm. All auditions will be held at LSU’s Music and Dramatic Arts Building in room 135. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday, May 2nd- June 8th at 5pm each evening. For auditions actors are asked to prepare 16 bars of a Broadway standard musical. *Please bring sheet music to your audition- an accompanist will be provided.
