Thank you so much for your support and votes. Because of you, all 3 propositions passed, which means not only that our teachers' salaries remain secure, but also that BRCVPA is getting a brand new school in 2023! We look forward to sharing this journey with you and will keep you posted on details as we get them!
One Team, One Mission, One BIG THANK YOU!!!!

Our Dance Troupe prepared this piece and performed it at the Ebb and Flow Festival this March. The theme was Baton Rouge to Brazil:Where the Mississippi meets the Amazon.

Don't forget to send in your spring picture order forms and payments tomorrow, April 25th!
Spencer's charges a $10.00 late processing fee for orders received after the deadline. Thank you! While studying the spring season, 1st graders in Ms. Campbell's class read and watched informational texts and videos about Vincent Van Gogh. They used oil pastels and watercolor paints to create our own "Flowers in Vase" artwork.

This piece was created to tell a story that nearly everyone has lived through. Sometimes the world seems dark and we feel alone as we walk through life. This dance is about opening up yourself to give good things out to the world and allowing yourself to receive light and happiness from the people around you.
Here is our BRCVPA Dance Troupe with this beautiful contemporary piece to "Open Up Let the Light In." Local artist, Barton Gilley, known around Baton Rouge for his replica of R2D2 and his animatronic puppets, Twiggly and the piranha plant from Mario Brothers, brought his craft and his creations to the Destination Imagination students. After showing and explaining how his creations operate and were built, Mr. Gilley allowed the students to handle his creations. Students got to manipulate Twiggly and to "drive" R2D2. Extended Day students got in on the fun as R2D2 drove around the gym. Our thanks to Mr. Barton for his patience with questions and his willingness to let students experience STEAM as applied in his art. You can learn more about Mr. Gilley and his passion by watching his TED Talk, The Art of Self-Improvement: Doing What You Love Until It's Done Right. |
