Thank you to all the volunteers who came from Bethany today to help us prepare for the first day of school. They were the a true "Dream Team" and a blessing to many teachers! These volunteers hooked up computers, arranged furniture, cleaned dry-erase boards, put books on shelves, moved materials to the right classrooms, hooked up cable boxes, hung paper on the bulletin boards, dusted, and wiped down desks and chairs. From all of us at BRCVPA, thank you! We are blessed to have a community of people who truly care and want to make a difference in the lives of others. `Something extra to show you God loves you!~ www.serve225.com Volunteers -Shawn, Robin, and Marvin Clark Fun Fact: Marvin was a student at Walnut Hills Elementary in the 70's. :-) -Deinecia Junius -Tonja Collier -Les & Jamie Gauthreau -Miracle Richardson -Joanne Castro -Tonja Hitton -Alberta Cook -Gary Daigle -Jasmine Jones Congratulations to one of our very own students who was recently cast in Playmaker's "Madeline and the Gypsies!" Good morning, Baton Rouge Center friends and families. In light of the tragic events occurring in our city this morning, we are canceling the family fun day that was scheduled for 3:00 pm this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers are with the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish, and those who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our community. We are sad that we will not get the opportunity to spend time with you today.
Just a few reminders: Our next beautification day is Monday, July 25th. Open House is Monday, August 8th at 6:00 pm. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 10th. We look forward to seeing everyone in just a few short weeks. Our Extreme Makeover BRCVPA Edition continues!! Last week we scraped the peeling walls in the bathrooms. Then, painted the walls with a fresh new coat. It looks so much better!! We are going to continue "beautifying" BRCVPA. We have so many wonderful students at our school, and they deserve a nice place to learn. If you are interested in helping with a project, please call the school. We'd love to have you! Even if you aren't sure how you can help, we have plenty of projects BIG and small!! There is something for everyone who wants to help. Student bathrooms Before......Student Bathrooms After.....Our last day of Spanish in Session 1 included learning the traditional piñata song and breaking open a piñata. I was very impressed that the campers made sure each classmate left with something. It's great to see kids bonding with each other. Thank you for a great Summer Camp Session 1!!
Aramark has been working hard this summer helping us prepare for the new school year. They came out this past week to clean out our gutters. Thank you, Aramark!
