Congratulations! Mrs. de Silva, our BRCVPA General Music teacher, was invited to present at the American Orff-Schulwerk Association Conference in November. We are delighted to have a leader in the music community representing BRCVPA!
Mrs. de Silva also earned her Level 2 Orff Certification this summer by attending a two week course at Texas A&M Kingsville. Well done, Mrs. de Silva! We are all extremely proud of you!

We are having a Campus Beautification Day tomorrow, Monday, July 31st from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Parents, families, and friends are invited to come and assist us with sprucing up BRCVPA's campus for the new school year!
Possible projects include: cleaning, unpacking, decorating, arranging classroom furniture, connecting computers, hedge and tree trimming, weeding, gardening, mulching, planting, curb-painting, parking lot striping, pressure-washing, etc. If you have tools that can assist with any of these projects, please bring them with you! Come for as little or as long as you can! Mrs. de Silva and some of the students from our BRCVPA Choristers partnered with the Manners of the Heart organization to record some of the songs that will be used by educators and students across the country. We are proud of be a part of this program and we thank the Manners of the Heart organization for providing our students with this unique experience!

We have a current Girl Scout Junior Troop that is recruiting new BRCVPA girls interested in joining. PROFESSIONAL Development Workshop
BRCVPA teachers (Mrs. Stacey Elston, Mrs. Karen Dafoe, and Ms. Janai James) spent the past week playing with legos, learning the fundamentals of coding, exploring robotics, and learning how to teach students to play chess. The summer workshop was sponsored by the Foundation for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. We look forward to sharing all our newly acquired knowledge with our students when the return in August!
It was great seeing everyone who came out for
family fun day! We enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. 2017-2018 is going to be a great school year! We look forward to seeing all of you at Open House on Monday, August 7th. The Baton Rouge Mounted Patrol Unit from the Baton Rouge Police Force came out to provide our campers with a demonstration of their day to day activities. Students were excited to meet the officers and their equestrian partners as they learned how the officers help keep our community safe.
