Click here for more information, and to register your child. http://www.brcvpa.com/blog/covid-testing-for-students Fifth graders practiced shifting numbers with multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 by challenging each other on Blooket Crypto Hack. PreK Dance Class was a success! They danced their hearts out! Here they are dancing as swimming fish to learn how to safely travel around the room and return to their place. Third grade scientists simulated group animal behavior by testing if hunting alone as a wolf or hunting as a pack would be better for their survival! We had a blast figuring out that hunting as a group provides more food and protection which is much better for survival!
Good afternoon BRCVPA Families:
As you know, there is a storm forecasted to hit our area early next week. East Baton Rouge Parish School System facilities and schools will be closed Monday, August 30th. We will continue to keep you up to date on how this impacts our school as decisions are made by the district. Click the letter below for details. Kindergartners spend time practicing writing their names, writing capital letters, and how to use dry erase markers and playdough. It’s so important that these fine motor skills be developed during the early years of school. Great way to start, Kindergarten!
It's been two full weeks, and we are ready to celebrate! Our students, teachers, and parents have been working so hard adjusting to this new school year. Tomorrow, we will celebrate with our first Manners of the Heart Positive Behavior Incentive Event!
Students are invited to wear free (school-appropriate) dress tomorrow, and will get an extra 10 minutes of recess time! Manners of the Heart is our school-wide character education and social-emotional learning program. At the end of each month, students who show respect for themselves and others will participate in a fun behavior celebration! We are looking forward to seeing our students have fun outside tomorrow as they show off their individual style through free dress. Pre-K students in Mrs. Prescott’s class put their fine motor skills to use while they created their letter master”pieces” with torn construction paper and glue. Their smiles say it all! We are working hard to speed up the time you spend in the carpool line. We can't do it without a little help from you. Please review the image and read the reminders below! 3:40 is the goal!!!
We truly appreciate your patience as we settle in to the school year! Dr. Moore has approved a school-wide free dress day after we hit our carpool target goal of 3:40 for the first time! Together, we can make it happen! Hello BRCVPA Families,
As we begin this new school year, the health and safety of all students and staff remains our top concern. We are excited to announce that EBRPSS is starting a voluntary student weekly COVID-19 testing program to help keep our school community safe and allow us to have regular in-person learning. Staff participation in the program is required. Through this program, we will offer the highest quality PCR testing available at no cost to teachers, staff, students, and families. Keeping school buildings open depends on our ability to identify and take immediate action to address COVID-19 concerns on our campus. By identifying infections early, weekly testing will help keep transmission low and students in school for in-person learning, sports, and extracurricular activities. This program will allow BRCVPA to test both symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals and reduce the risk to our school community. Each week a trained healthcare team will visit to conduct the testing program using short nasal swabs. The samples will be couriered to the CLIA-certified laboratory and tested using PCR technology. Results will be delivered by text or email usually before the next morning and any individuals with positive tests will be contacted by our team about next steps. Every additional person tested reduces the chance of the virus spreading in our community so it is my hope that all our families will take advantage of the opportunity to help our school be as safe as it can possibly be and to remain open without any disruption. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to 225-910-8308 or visit the website www.k12testing.com. We deeply appreciate your partnership and your commitment to keeping our school community safe and healthy. Frozen Treat Friday is about to begin!
