CACRC (Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council) is a nonprofit organization committed to both e-scrap reduction by decreasing the e- waste stream to landfills and to providing refurbished computers and equipment to schools, nonprofits, and low income families. The organization accomplishes this by electronic refurbishment and recycling-including collection, sorting, dismantling, refurbishing, data wiping, sales, and donations.
Studies have shown that students with access to a home computer are more likely to excel in their studies and graduate from high school. This company offer computers that are not only affordable, but built to last for students. All of the refurbished computers come with a one year hardware warranty including local, on-site technical support. Visit their website for more information about this wonderful organization and programs – www.cacrc.com. In Ms. Berry's class they read the biography The Fantastic Undersea Life of Jacques Cousteau. They learned all about his love for the sea and the many inventions that have helped to share the beauty of the sea with the world! In the art center students drew an illustration of Jacques and the sea creatures of the deep. With Ms. Moore, students wrote paragraphs about why and how Jacques Cousteau explored the sea. Students are having a whale of a time in Ms. Berry's 3rd grade class!
