A few weeks ago we welcomed back a time honored tradition of BRCVPA: GRANDPARENTS BINGO NIGHT! Families flooded the gym and we were so happy to see everyone back on campus and having fun. Check out the pictures from the event, and we can't wait until next time! Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School visited the 5th grade students to tell them all about their program for middle school. Several of our former students were there to share their experiences, their talents, and answer questions. Magnet Mania will be at the Raising Cane's River Center on October 1st from 10 am to 2 pm. Magnet Showcase week will be October 3-7. The 2022-2023 magnet application period opens October 3rd. Tasty Thursdays are where parents show our teachers and staff a small token of appreciation and gratitude.
Fourth Grade Thursday November 3rd Third Grade Thursday December 1st Second Grade Thursday January 12th First Grade Thursday February 9th Kindergarten Thursday March 9th Pre-K Wednesday April 5th (On a Wednesday so we don't have leftovers the day before a week long school break!) Thank you for supporting and honoring our great teachers and staff! Dear BRCVPA Parents and Students,
Please help us by nominating a teacher to represent BRCVPA for the 2022-2023 school year. We have so many outstanding educators at BRCVPA, so this is always a difficult decision. The candidate should have the ability to inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities, and to help them reach their fullest potential. The BRCVPA teacher of the year should have the respect and admiration of the students, parents, and colleagues. They should play an active role in the community and work diligently to enhance the the arts-based program in which we believe here at BRCVPA. Thank you for taking the time to nominate a deserving teacher today! We look forward to recognizing and honoring one of our outstanding educators. CLICK THE IMAGE BELOW TO NOMINATE A TEACHER! In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, BRCVPA's fabulous 4th graders are currently working on a minimalist project featuring Frida Kahlo called "pequeño retrato" or little portrait in Spanish. Students first read about Kahlo and discussed her love for art and the inspiration which led her to become such an influential artist. We also took a look at some of her artwork and discussed our observations based on what we have learned about her. Finally, students are creating little portraits of Kahlo, sharing just a glimpse of this amazing woman!
The Magnet Application Period is rapidly approaching! Application Season kicks off with Magnet Mania at the BR River Center on Saturday, October 1st from 10:00 - 2:00.
