Congratulations to the students whose Superhero Logos will be featured on the 2018 Fall Fest Shirt! We received over 100 entries and narrowed those down to 32 designs, which were voted on by the PTO Officers and BRCVPA Faculty. The top 15 designs were then submitted to Giraphic Prints, who made the final determination based on which designs would print best on the shirt. Thanks to all students who participated in making such a fun Fall Fest T-Shirt! Shirt orders are due no later than this Friday, November 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. so we can distribute the shirts before Fall Fest! If you lost the form that was sent home, click the form image below to print one. No late orders can be accepted! Madison – Power Partners

BRCVPA won a 3D printer because so many of our teachers earned their Google Level 1 Certification!!! As soon as it was unpacked, students gathered around. The library was swarmed at recess with students in awe of the printer!
We can't wait to start designing some of our own objects to print! A big BRCVPA thanks to the Technology Integration team! Are you interested in designing the next Holiday Card for the American Federation of Teachers? If so, here is the criteria for the contest:
This past week, Mr. Douglas taught students how to draw caricatures during recess. He entertained the students with a step-by-step tutorial that left an impression! The students had a great time, and learned so much about drawing human caricatures. We appreciate you sharing your passion for art with our students, and we are happy to have you here at BRCVPA! Could one of these students be the next Baton Rouge “Cartoon Lady or Man”?
Please help me congratulate Mrs. Karen Dafoe, our school librarian, for being the 2018 Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators Region II Elementary Teacher of the Year! She will be recognized and rewarded at an awards ceremony this November during the LACUE Conference in New Orleans. We are so proud of Mrs. Dafoe, and we know that this is a well-earned and deserved award. Keep up the great work, Mrs. Dafoe!
Baton Rouge Parents Magazine sponsors an annual "Sock it to Me" Sock Drive each holiday season. The goal is to collect socks, which are the most needed, yet infrequently donated item to homeless shelters. Our sock drive kicked off during Red Ribbon Week, and will continue until we leave for the Christmas holidays. Please send new socks with your child to school - donation bins will be set up in the office.
Thank you for your generosity to the homeless in our area! Next week is National Red Ribbon Week, which helps to spread awareness of substance abuse prevention. Below is the schedule of dress-up days and events, including our school-wide career fair next Friday! Click the images below to learn more about National Red Ribbon Week!
It's FINALLY time to turn in your fundraiser packets! Please send all packets and money to school tomorrow with your child if you have not already! Thank you!

The jambalaya sale will continue throughout the event until supplies run out. We hope to see you all here this evening!! BRCVPA Mommies and/or the Next Best Thing,
On November 5th, one “Mommy” per family is invited to attend the Virginia Rep Theatre’s Production of the timeless classic, Sleeping Beauty.at the Manship Theatre. Moms will come to BRCVPA Campus for 9:30 a.m., and ride the bus with their child(ren). We will eat a picnic lunch outside the Manship Theatre before entering the 11:30 show! Seating is limited to 284 audience members. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Adult tickets are $15.00 each, and student tickets are $15.00 each as well. Forms and money may be turned in beginning TODAY and will be processed until the show is sold out. Only complete forms with payment attached will be accepted. If you are accompanying multiple children, please put all of their names on THE FIRST ATTACHED FORM, and fill out an individual EBR permission slip (also attached) for EACH CHILD. We look forward to sharing this experience with you! Ms. Brown's third graders did an informational book tasting activity to get a “taste” of different informational books. Just like with food, we need to taste it to see if we would enjoy it. The kids had a blast and found a love for new topics they might not have ever explored without a sampling! 📚
