Have you ever wanted to audition for a show, but can't get over the jitters of picking the right song or learning choreography on the spot? Well, this workshop is just for you!
Theatre Baton Rouge is happy to announce its YOUTH audition workshop, for those ages 7-18 on Saturday, May 14th from 11:15 am-4:00 pm! The youth audition workshop will cover the basics of auditioning, including how to present yourself in an audition, choosing an appropriate song and cut for you and the show, appropriate attire, what choreographers look for throughout a dance audition, etc. Students are encouraged to bring their own song that they would like to work on, however, one can be provided for you! The ages will be split into two groups, 7-12 and 13-18, in order to allow for more individual work with the instructors. The workshop will include one professional head shot as well as information on upcoming classes, camps, auditions, and school matinees. Please wear clothes you are able to dance in, a solid color top (preferable for head shots) and closed toe shoes. Bring a small snack, a refillable water bottle, a pencil, and the piece of music you’ve prepared if you're selecting your own song. You must register for the workshop before May 9, 2016. Class limit is 18 students per age range and costs $100. To register, or if you have any questions, call the Theatre Baton Rouge box office before May 9, 2016 at (225) 924-6496!
