BRCVPA, in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects Baton Rouge, presents an in-school version of AIABR’s Building Blocks: If Kids Ruled the City. BRCVPA 3rd grade students will learn about planning an ideal city through a Social Studies, Writing, and Arts integrated project during the week of October 17, 2016. Each team of 4 students will design and build a building that represents a business or service that the students think is needed in an ideal city. Architects Michael McLean and Kate McLean will present to students on Wednesday, October 19 to give a professional’s insight into how buildings and cities are created. Several architects will be on hand to assist with Build Day. Monday: What is city planning?
Tuesday: What businesses and services are needed in a city? Wednesday: Visit by architects, writing day Thursday: Build Day (Thursday night is Family Arts Integration Night)
