Elementary students in East Baton Rouge Parish were invited to create posters illustrating a theme in fire prevention. This year's theme is "Look, Listen, Learn. Be aware - Fire can happen anywhere." The posters were judged by the East Baton Rouge Fire Department based on theme, creativity, and originality. Congratulations, BRCVPA students: Maheba (4th grade, 3rd Place), Ali (3rd grade, 1st Place), Calvez (PK, 1st Place), and Lucy (Kindergarten, 3rd Place)! They all placed in the annual East Baton Rouge Parish Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Tuesday evening, they were recognized and rewarded at the annual Fire Prevention Banquet by the Baton Rouge Fire Department and Mayor Sharon Weston-Broome. We are so proud of each of them! A special thank you to everyone who participated in the poster contest. We had some outstanding entries, and the competition was tough!
