Do you ever find yourself wanting more immersive, relevant, educational, and downright interesting learning activities for your students? Baton Rouge's GIS Day is that and more - and did we mention it's free? On November 16, 2016 from 3-6pm, join a consortium of GIS professionals at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library ~ Main Branch for a day-long celebration of technology in education and the future of Louisiana's workforce! No registration required. Experience Geographic Information Systems (GIS) first-hand and with GIS professionals guiding your child. This growing field combines mapping technology with data, making it one of the most up-and-coming versatile tools around. Students will participate in mapping activities with two non-profits, Baton Rouge Green and LARSGIS Institute; and meet Alyssa Carson, a Mars One Ambassador, local high school student, and astronaut candidate trained by NASA!
