Read below for more information on the Playmakers' Show!
In My Habitat is Where It’s At, Bonnie Bear is a small-town bear from northern Louisiana who dreams of making it big as jazz singer in New Orleans. To fulfill her dream, Bonnie goes on a journey through the great state of Louisiana, travelling through the regions of Sportsman’s Paradise, Crossroads, Cajun Country, Plantation Country, and finally Greater New Orleans. Along the way, she meets native critters of each region who try to convince her that their habitat is the best. Each new friend explains to Bonnie that they serve a function in their particular home and that their habitat could not thrive without them. Throughout her journey, Bonnie is amazed by all the biodiversity that exists in one state and in the end must choose for herself which region she will call home. Playmakers' touring plays are 45-minute shows that focus on an educational topic based on the needs of our unique community. This year’s show, My Habitat is Where It’s At, was written by high school students in a playwriting class at the Runnels School.
