Columbus Day is no longer a holiday, Christmas vacation will begin a day later than planned and four half days are now full days, under a new post-flooding schedule approved Thursday, September 15th, by the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.
Here are the new start and end times that will take effect Monday, September 26th: — Elementary schools start at 8:20 a.m. and end at 3:31 p.m. **The tardy bell will ring at 8:20 a.m.** Bus schedules are expected to remain unchanged. Parents who drive their kids to school will have to adjust their pickup and drop-off times. BRCVPA carpool will begin at 3:31 and will end at 3:50 pm. September 21st, December 16th, December 19th, and December 20th will no longer be early dismissal days. October 7th, October 10th, and December 21st are no longer school holidays. Students and teachers will now report to work on these days. We are currently looking at the events on our school calendar and will be making adjustments as needed.
